Grace Medical Home
Dental Center Intern
Grace Medical Home is a stellar instritution that has partnered with UCF's Pre-Dental Student Association (PDSA) for years. Michelle Lee Lawton is the Director of Dental Operations and provides PDSA with volunteering opportunities and offers select students with the opportunity to work as an intern for a year.
Clinical Workshops
The UCF Pre-Dental Student Association offers clinical workshops featuring local professionals in the field ranging from suturing workshops to instrument workshops, allowing myself to gain an early advantage in building my dental skillset.
Hospital Volunteer Hours
I began my volunteering work at my local rural hospital, Twin Cities, in Niceville FL. I volunteered for half a year, 6 hours a week in both the medical floor and with the front desk for same-day surgery. After moving to college in Orlando, FL, I volunteered with Orlando Regional Medical Center with the pre-op front desk, the post-op floor, and the ER for 80+ hours until deciding to pursue dentistry.
